FizzStory and RATART have been bubbling for as long as can be remembered.

Their roots trace back to a period of social unrest, personal upheaval, and profound transformation during 2017–2018, scattering marks, moments, and madness across PHX and NYC.

Fragments of that period remain bubbling through artefacts, memories, notebooks, stories, scraps, conversations, documents, records, CCTVs, places, and people.

During this time, I began documenting, tagging, collecting, and uncovering meaning and madness in everyday tings. Marking moments into the magnificent and mundane gave me a way to navigate the uncharted terrain of breakdowns and breakthroughs, the mess of identity and belonging, the boldness of silliness and suffering, and the human pursuit of purpose and perfection.

Many of duh_ideas that later appeared throughout Innovation Studies, FizzStory, Fizz@[PLAY], Recovery Design, and various spinoff projects were already emerging through these early experiments.

What began as a search for meaning + mending simmered into a creative system, an archive, a storytelling practice, a website, and a way of unapologetically asking:

WHA?!duh_FIZZ

The structure, support, and deadlines provided by UCC helped formalise and document these explorations, but the bubbling began long before the coursework.
